What is the origin of your derby name and/or number?
I was born and raised in Hawai'i, 808 is the area code there. Hellion is my riding name.
What teams have you played with?
Electric City Roller GrrrlZ; Red, White & Bruise Rollers; Twin City Roller Derby
How/when did you discover derby?
Some Girls approached me in a bar and asked me to come to practice. I've been hooked every since.
How has derby impacted your life?
More ways than I can describe! It has helped my self-confidence immensely. It also helps with anger management, my athletics abilities, my social skills, etc. I have conquered so many fears on the track. This is such an empowering sport.
What derby positions do you enjoy playing?
All of them (especially jamming)!
Do you have a personal goal for this year?
I'd like to improve my agility as well as my communication skills on the track.
What advice do you have for new skaters?
Keep moving forward! Don't let the little things get you down, focus on the positives!
What are your non-derby hobbies?
Martial arts, riding motorcycles, strength training
